The Fort Point Arts Community, Inc. of South Boston (FPAC) is a non-profit community organization founded in 1980 and run by neighborhood artists and volunteers. Our mission is to enrich the Fort Point area with a resident live/work artist population that contributes to the district’s and the City of Boston’s cultural life. Accomplishments include:
  • Organizing Fort Point Open Studios weekend, now in its 28th year, which draws an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 visitors each October.
  • For more than 20 years, negotiating affordable leases with landlords.
  • Operating the FPAC Gallery at 300 Summer Street.
  • Publishing Artpoint, a quarterly newsletter featuring neighborhood news and artist spotlights.
  • Maintaining a website with information about events and members.
  • Providing and administering a yahoo e-group.
  • Developing 249 A Street Artists Cooperative and The Artist Building at 300 Summer Street, two limited equity artists cooperatives that provide live/work space for 90 artist households.
Gabrielle Shaffner of the FPAC is on the Friends of Fort Point Channel Program Committee and is actively involved in the support, planning and promotion of the historic Fort Point district and its neighborhoods.

Boston Partners in Education enhances the academic achievement and nurtures the personal growth of Boston’s public school students by providing them with focused, individualized, in-school volunteer support. For over 40 years, Boston Partners has strived to involve community members in lives of Boston’s public school children, and we have a proven track record of success with these students. As a result of working with Boston Partners’ academic mentors, students have displayed increased enthusiasm toward learning, improved academics, attendance, and behavior. Boston Partners’ volunteers help students develop life skills necessary for success both in and out of school. They also expose students to information about new and different opportunities available to them to achieve their future goals.

IHRSA stands for 'International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association.' We are a trade association serving the health and fitness club industry. IHRSA's mission is to grow, protect and promote the health and fitness industry, and to provide its members with benefits that will help them be more successful.

Through extensive funding, advocacy, and networking efforts, NEFA promotes the creation and distribution of the full range of artistic expression. NEFA functions as a grantmaker, program initiator, regional laboratory, project coordinator, developer of resources, and builder of creative partnerships among artists, arts organizations and funders. Each program and project that is brought to life at NEFA is created with the underlying goal of building a stronger and more dynamic infrastructure for the arts. NEFA celebrates New England and its characteristic values while playing a national role by distributing model programs, supporting international cultural exchange, and advocating access to the arts for everyone.
