You may remember Maison Robert the tres fancy French restaurant that occupied a corner of Old City Hall for many years? This is one of two new incarnations of that old standard -- a smaller and more intimate setting as it's name suggests. It has a sibling in the South End. The chef and owner pride themselves in being a true French bistro, meaning a restaurant where your average Joe goes to eat. Lunch entrees are under $12 and dinner entrees are $20.

Eastern Standard serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It caters to hotel guests, locals and Red Sox fans. A popular place to dine before a Red Sox game, Eastern Standard is a popular destination post game as well. Whether you are there for a delicious brasserie experience or saddling up to the bar to enjoy the extensive cocktail list, Eastern Standard does not disappoint. Voted Best of Boston for Group dining as well. Fair warning: can be loud at the bar after the Sox get out! A real French brasserie is kind of like the equivalent of an American steak house/comfort food joint: croque monsieurs, onion soup, a huge plate of oysters, crabs legs, and other seafood tasties, wash it down with a flute of champagne or a nice glass of belgian ale. It's high minded, delicious, slightly decadent without feeling like you've gorged on a side of creamed spinach.

The Foundation Lounge is the "hotel bar" of the Hotel Commonwealth. It offers high-end design and high end drinks, with a bar menu that leans towards the Japanese (edamame, maki, kobe beef, spring rolls). Creative cusine and interesting cocktails make this a hotspot on the weekends, after work crowd, and wildly popular during Red Sox games.

Audubon Circle takes its name from the rotary that used to exist where Park Drive and Beacon Street came together, designed in 1887 by Frederick Law Olmsted. That traffic feature doesn't exist anymore, but luckily this charming bar and restaurant carries on the name. Very cozy atmosphere in this sister establishment to Miracle of Science.

Located next to the Kenmore Square MBTA stop on Beacon Street, UBurger consistently provides some of the best burgers in Boston. Claiming themselves, "Above All Burgers", UBurger offers a variety of interesting burger combinations, from traditional - the "UCheeseburger" comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and a house spread - to innovative; the Stunt Double Cheeseburger comes with spicy pepper jack cheese, sliced jalapenos, and banana pepper rings. If you want to make your own burger, UBurger provides a large array of different sides for you to add on, including four different types of pepper, seven different sauces, and six types of cheese. While the "UChicken sandwiches" and "Udogs" offered are not quite as good as the hamburgers - order a Cheese Hot dog and they'll give you two slices of American cheese - who cares? This is a burger joint! The fries and onion rings are fantastic, and everything is affordable. Burgers are made quickly - think of it as a really high quality McDonalds, but with fresh beef instead of some Grade-D frozen patty - and limited patio seating is available.

Cornwall's migrated across Kenmore Square into new digs earlier this century but it still has a stellar selection of beers and ample pub grub to suit its customers.

Formerly the site of Burrito Max, Boca Grande still fills the burrito needs of folks in Kenmore Square. It is open daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. The restaurant provides Wi-Fi. This is a usual haunt for BU students, it has food at reasonable prices.

One of a chain that originally started in Davis Square, Somerville. Serving brick oven baked pizzas, italian dishes, salads and those oh so yummy right out of the oven rolls.

Chef Michael Schlow brings you one of Boston's premier seafood dining destinations. The team of Schlow, Esti Parsons and Christopher Myers--who were so successful with Radius and Matta have created Great Bay in the Commonwealth Hotel. It is not cheap, but who wants seafood that isn't of the utmost quality anyway? This place has a modern, nautically themed dining room and lounge marked by sky-high ceilings, deep blues and playful lighting fixtures. The "Sand Dollar Menu," offered weekdays from 5pm to 6pm at the Island Bar (raw bar), includes spicy fish tacos, chilled Duxbury oysters and lobster-shrimp dumplings, all for $1 each.

Sol Azteca offers outdoor seating when the weather allows. Free chips and Salsa (all you can eat!). Short menu but full of great food-margaritas are renowned to be delicious. Not 100% authentic Mexican food but pretty gosh darn close to it.
