It's kind of funny, but this place has gotten some fairly limp reviews about both the food and the service. However, when I visited and spoke to one of the chefs, he was very engaging and obviously had a great deal of pride in the restaurant. They have an open kitchen, a fireplace downstairs, and a cozy space overall. They use the freshest local ingredients, and their most popular dishes are the specials. If you don't see a dish on the menu, they will prepare what you want to order. This isn't the sort of place where you will get rushed out. If you want to sit back to chat and reminisce with old friends and drink wine for 2-3 hours, you're more than welcome to do so. They tried a little hard with the faux-exposed brick, but if you're enjoying yourself, who cares? Tip: For a more intimate dinner, request a table for 2 downstairs.

There are only 7 tables in the whole place, and this is the perfect restaurant if you want a full-on "Lady and the Tramp" spaghetti & meatballs experience. Charming--venetian masks and cupids decorate the bright red walls. They sell jars of their red sauce so that you can impress guests with your cooking at home. Don't worry, I won't tell.

Fresh smells of steaming Italian food (and, fortunately, not fresh gropes from Italian men) transport you to Rome the minute you step through the door. That minute may be long in coming, however, since on weekend nights the line can extend around the block (reservations for 6 or more). Portions are big enough for even the fattest mafia don and come in the $8-9 (satiating) and $12-15 (gut-busting) sizes, featuring such favorites as Margherita Chicken ($14) and Eggplant Parmigiana ($12). La Famiglia also serves tantalizing grill options, pizza, calzone, exotic pasta dishes, and specialty desserts and coffees. Although neither location is the place to come for a romantic dinner, you'll be hard-pressed to find better, cheaper Italian dishes in the Boston area. Entrees $9-20. Students receive a 20% discount on all entrees. This section contains information from Harvard Student Agencies' Unofficial Guide to Life at Harvard.

Stereotypical and somewhat cheesy North End restaurant, great for a date. If you have a most special occasion, reserve Table 30 in the cozy corner overlooking the cobblestone streets. Only wonderful things happen here! Proposals of marriage and other occasions of personal importance have been celebrated in this truly unique and magical spot. Located 3 doors up from Paul Revere's House.

The name is of the town where the owners family is from in Italy. It's an intimate little restaurant with excellent service, where the little things add up to a truly wonderful experience. Their food is made to highlight not just the sauce but all the ingredients of the dish, and the pasta and bread are made fresh on site. You can really notice the care and attention given to every detail. Prices are typical of the expensive North End, with antipasti averaging $12, pastas at $17, and entrees costing up to $30
